Just because Summoners CAN skip out on getting a pet does not mean that they should not be allowed to bind commands for the pet. There is not a single Summoner who will skip out on getting a pet, and if they did they were not thinking clearly. They should allow Summoners to bind pet skills to the hotkey bars or change Defensive status so that the pet starts to attack when you attack a target rather than when a target hits you.
